Indonesian-born, Satrio Nindyo Istiko or Satrio Nindyo Istiko or Tiko (He/She) is an Indonesian-born, Australian queer writer and sociologist based in Toulouse, France. Tiko writes about gender, race, sexuality and migration, while his research covers four overlapping, thematic axes: Queer migration and displacement; intersectional approaches to gender and health-inequalities; digital storytelling for public sociology and health promotion; and decolonial and participatory methodologies. He has been the recipient of Non-Residential Fellowship from Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies, University of Auckland, in 2026, and the Significant Contribution Award from Bradford Centre 2 for Qualitative Research in 2025. His debut fiction, Bukan Keluargaku (English translation: Not My Family), is published in Indonesia in 2026 by Marjin Kiri.

I have spent over a decade investigating the complex interplay between cultural identity and health access. My work has been featured in international journals and literary magazines alike.
